Thomas is working at Ford Motor Company as a Chassis Engineering Intern in Dearborn, MI. Thomas will return to college in September 2010. Schinderle Motorsports looks to return to the track in the fall.
22 August 2009- Thomas runs out of time and finishes 2nd Schinderle Motorsports had a winning car but flat ran out of time. Thomas started dead last and sliced through the field of 15 cars into second place by sixth lap. The leader had already opened up a straightaway lead and the race went green to checkered. Thomas cut 75% off the lead at the finish line but came home with the car intact in 2nd place.
15 August 2009 - Schinderle Motorsports WINS Thomas started mid pack and stayed patient to pick off cars one by one until reaching the leader by the halfway mark. Thomas led the rest of the race through cautions and was unchallenged at the line to take the win.
01 August 2009 - Schinderle Motorsports WINS in Dominating Fashion Thomas started near the back in the heat race and worked his way to the front in 3 laps and never looked back to qualify on the pole position for the feature. Schinderle continued to dominate the field in the feature, opening up a straight-away lead at one point. Schinderle Motorsports would like to thank all the people that have helped the team this year to earn this victory.
20 June 2009 - #7 in wrong place at wrong time With yet another strong qualifying heat run, Schinderle Motorsports looked like a strong contender to take home the trophy at the end of the night. Thomas started 6th and was patient to get in line on the one groove dry slick track. Thomas fell in line in 8th position and quickly started to pick off opponents. While passing for 3rd, Thomas was caught up in a wreck of two cars that washed down the track. Thomas was left with two flat tires and lots of body damage. Schinderle Motorsports remains confident that their luck will change and the strong performances will continue.
13 June 2009 - Thomas works into 3rd place but snaps fan belt
Schinderle Motorsports continued to prepare a fast, but lady luck was still not on their side this weekend. Thomas started the feature in the 12th position and by the third lap he had worked his way up to 3rd. Unfortunately the #7 machine snapped a fan belt and Thomas was forced to surrender for the night.
11 April 2009 - Thomas leading while losing power steering The World of Outlaws drew a huge crowd to the races this weekend. Schinderle Motorsports was on their A-game as Thomas came from the back of his qualifying heat to win. The feature lineup was inverted and the #7 modified started 5th. Thomas quickly worked his way through pack and was in the lead by the second lap. Schinderle had a straightaway lead when the power steering went out and refused to pull in while leading in front of almost 10,000 fans. Thomas continued to lead for another 9 laps and was forced to pull in due to overheating conditions. Schinderle Motorsports would like to thank the fans and sponsors who support the team.
04 April 2009 - 2nd Place
After not being in the race car for 5 months, Thomas showed that he still remembers how to get the car around the track. The team had a tough time finding the right set up for dry slick track, but Thomas was able to overcome handling problems and secure a second place spot in feature.
